Recipe: Methi rice


1-2 cups of Basmati rice
1 of tbsp Coconut Oil
1-1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
Salt as per taste
150-170 grams of Methi (Fenugreek)
1 tbsp of unsalted Butter or ghee
1 tbsp of Garam Masala
peppercorns, only if you want to add


Start with washing the rice and keep it in water for sometime. On the other hand, heat coconut oil and add a few cumin seeds to it. After it turns a little dark brown in colour, add the drained rice. Stir for sometime.

Then, add 2-3 cups of water to the rice, with salt and turmeric powder mixed it. Let it boil for a while.

Now, that your rice is getting prepared, you can start with washing and chopping your methi leaves. After this, heat some butter or ghee in another pan and add methi leaves along with salt.

You can mix the garam masala to it, and stir it well. Followed by adding this mixture to the prepared rice. Mix it well.
