OMG! Akshay Kumar a BIGGER star than Shah Rukh Khan?

Akshay Kumar a BIGGER star than Shah Rukh Khan

There has always been a debate about who is the BIGGEST star in Bollywood! Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan have been vying for this position for recent years. While Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have now been giving MAMMOTH reaches on one after the other over the past two years, there’s been talk about the other three. Hrithik is out of the race as he now has two back-to-back duds at the box office (Bang Bang and Mohenjo Daro). So who’s a LARGER between Akshay and Shah Rukh?

Akshay is a larger star when it comes to box office returns, although while many will be tempted to take name is ’sed by SRK. Akshay does more than three movies a year, which get decent amount of cash and give more money back to the business than Shah Rukh Khan’s pictures. Shah Rukh was seen in Dilwale, Happy New Year and Fan, if you see over the last three years. In Holiday, Akshay was seen on the other hand: A Soldier Is Never Of Obligation, It’s Rustom, Entertainment, The Shaukeens, Baby, Gabbar Is Back, Brothers, Singh Is Bliing, Airlift, Housefull 3.

Here is the break up if we go year by year:

In 2014

Shah Rukh Khan collected Rs 203 crore courtesy Happy New Year.

Akshay Kumar earned Rs 212.47 crore courtesy Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Of Duty, It’s Entertainment and The Shaukeens.

In 2015

SRK earned Rs 148.72 crore thanks to Dilwale

AK netted Rs 355.73 crore via Baby, Gabbar Is Back, Brothers and Singh Is Bliing.

In 2016

Shah Rukh’s Fan earned Rs 84.10 crore

On the other hand, Akshay collected Rs 305.46 crore courtesy Airlift, Housefull 3 and Rustom.

Looking at these numbers, its clear that Akshay has certainly outperformed Shah Rukh in the last three years. As he EXCLUSIVELY told us, “Akshay may not have entered the Rs 200 crore club coz of a single film yet but his films release at regular intervals (every 3-4 months) and earn nearly Rs 80-90 crore each. That’s a steady stream of money that enters the industry after every three to four months. That makes him highly profitable for everyone. Despite not having a Rs 200 crore film, he is right up there with the Khans who release one film a year and earn more than 200 crore. He is quite clearly the ATM machine for the industry!”
