How to meet Narendra Modi in Dubai

Meet Narendra Modi in Dubai, The dedicated website www.namoindubai.ae has been launched by the Indian Community Welfare Committee (ICWC) for people who wish to attend the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public reception which is scheduled to be held at the Dubai Cricket Association Stadium on August 17.

Modi has been invited by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The Indian Prime Minister will also meet His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai during the visit.

There are an estimated 2.6 million Indian expatriate community in the UAE. This will be the second time after 34 years that an Indian PM will be visiting UAE. The first was by Late Indira Gandhi in 1981. K Kumar, convener of the ICWC which is spearheading the arrangements for PM’s visit said, the objective of a dedicated website is to ensure the number of people who will be attending the function as well as plan a detail security arrangements.

This is how the website works.

1. Log on to www.namoindubai.ae

2. Fill up details.

3.Click register.

The applicant will receive a confirmation after which he or she will require to take a print out copy of the registration page along with a valid photo ID to take part in the event.

K Kumar convener of the ICWC said: “The NaMo organizing committee is working overtime to ensure that all facilities are provided to the community members who wish to attend the PM’s reception. Indian associations and the India business community have all joined together to assist the organization of the event. It has already generated a lot of enthusiasm in the community across the UAE.”

Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, member of the organizing committee said: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit is of great significance for the bilateral relations and social ties that exist between the UAE and India. We are not leaving any stone unturned to show our support and love for our homeland to our Prime Minister. We are making all the possible efforts to ensure that the entire Indian community can become a part of this historic visit. We are hoping that this is a first of many visits by the Indian PM to the Emirates.”

The visit would have official engagements in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and is expected to focus on energy, trade and security partnership between the two countries. Indian expatriate community is the largest ethnic community in the UAE constituting almost 30 per cent of the country’s population and with the presence of such a large diaspora, Prime Minister Modi’s visit is expected to focus on strengthening the trade and investment between the two countries.

“The Indian diaspora contributes a lot to India and I truly believe that PM Modi’s visit will open a number of doors for the Indian Community to not just feel but rather indeed be closer and more connected to our mother country,” added Dr. Shamsheer.

An organizing committee has been formed for the much-anticipated reception that will be hosted by the members of the ICWC.
