The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) said in a statement that maintenance work is being carried out between the areas of Al Abar and Dasman. The construction will run until April 17 and motorists are advised to take alternative routes as Shaikh Rashid Bin Saqr Al Qasimi road will be closed for 20 days.
The SRTA explained that the maintenance works include replacing the top layer of the existing asphalt with a new one, expanding the U-turn opposite the Sharjah Archaeological Museum, as well as, adding further sign roads in the areas.
The road works will be done out in two phases.The first phase which will run from March 28 to April 6, will start in the area of Dasman and will affect motorists driving from Cultural Roundabout towards Shaikh Rashid Bin Saqr Al Qasimi intersection.
It will be followed by maintenance works in the opposite direction in the Al Abar area from April 7 to 16, and will affect motorists travelling from Shaikh Rashid Bin Saqr Al Qasimi intersection to the Cultural Roundabout.
Construction will be carried out daily for six hours, from 11pm until 6am.
