Anees Bazmee’s Welcome Back is all set to release on the screens on December 19. This film is a sequel to his 2007 comic caper Welcome, which has been produced by Firoz A Nadiadwala and lead stars John Abraham And Shruti Haasan along with Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia, Shiney Ahuja and Ankita Srivastava.
The lead star cast has been replaced by John Abraham as the protagonist of the upcoming movie from Akshay Kumar in the last one. On the other hand, instead of Katrina Kaif, they have picked Shruti Haasan in Welcome Back.
Nadiadwala says, “Welcome was a Christmas release and family audiences made it a huge hit. We are making every effort to make the sequel equally successful.” What John Abraham, the newest addition to the star cast says is, “I’m excited to be a part of this franchise and to be working with versatile actors like Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal.” About repeating his role as Majnu Bhai, Anil says, “I enjoyed the role inWelcome because of its madness and fun. I hope and pray that the audience enjoys Majnu Bhai even more this time.”
Bazmee said that releasing his film on December 19 would make sense as it’s a Christmas week and it guarantees maximum audience. Reports had it that actor John Abraham had clearly rejected to star in a kissing scene with Shruti Haasan in the movie. In this sequel to the 2008 Welcome, John has denied be a part of any hot scenes, even.
When director Anees Bazmi was questioned by media regarding the same, he said, “A fresh jodi takes time to develop a comfort level. John did not want any kissing or steamy scenes so we have settled for a romantic song.”
While Bazmi supports his ‘fresh jodi‘ claim, what is unexpected is that in John’s last Box Office movie,Madras Cafe, the actor was seen in a steamy scene – lip-lock, et al – with a novice Rashi Khanna. And back then, John and Rashi was again a ‘fresh jodi‘.
