DUBAI: Etisalat users can now make voice calls using wi-fi as the telecom service provider has announced the completion of the UAE’s first successful Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) solution.
Etisalat was quoted as saying by Emirates 24/7 that its VoWiFi will extend the telecom company’s mobile service coverage, and will enable its customers to make, and receive calls using their home WiFi or in public WiFi areas.
Advanced technologies deployed to enable VoWiFi will reportedly ensure that customers experience a seamless call handover between LTE and Wi-Fi as well as faster call set-up times and better voice quality.
