From Jurassic World to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it seems that there is a non-stop stream of sequels flooding the multiplexes. Of course, not all of these sequels will be good. Most won’t be. But hopefully none of them are as abysmal as the movies on this list.
Here is the list of 7 disappointing sequels that followed really amazing movies. Well there are a lot more that could be added on the list if only the studios would leave well enough alone.
1. Scream 3
Wes Craven’s Scream and Scream 2 were playful takes on the horror genre, but by the time the third sequel came along, the series had become awful. We’re cautiously optimistic the fourth installment, due out in 2010, will recapture the joy of the originals.
2. Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (2004)
Although many people claim that this movie is a remake rather than a sequel, but since it was heavily promoted as a sequel, therefore the 2004 movie Dirty Dancing : Havana Nights makes into the top 7 in our list of great movies with disappointing sequels. Considered as a catastrophic disaster by critics, this movie was from nowhere able to connect with its original parent, the 1987 movie, Dirty Dancing.
