Children’s City |Things to do in Dubai with kids
If you have young children aged between 2 and 15 they will absolutely love Children’s City as there is so much to do. Children’s City was the first children’s education centre in the UAE and is full of an unimaginable amount of attractions including a Nature Center, International Culture Center, Workshop Area, Toddlers Area, Space Exploration Area, Planetarium Area, Computer & Communication Center, Play Area, Theatre and much, much more.
After exploring Children’s City, which should take most the day, you can then take an extremely short walk to the Dubai Dolphinarium where shows are on frequently. At Dubai Dolphinarium you can watch the latest and greatest in dolphin tricks. After Dubai Dolphinarium, you could then take another very short walk to the parks cable cars where you can see Dubai from the sky. Wonderland is also attached to Dubai Creek Park.
Wonderland | Things to do in Dubai Creek Park with kids
Wonderland is located right next to Dubai Creek Park and has 16 major rides, 10 children’s rides and 10 water rides. Wonderland also has the facilities for paintballing and Laser Tags! Some of the most major rides include a spinning coaster wheel, bumper cars, the horror house, a roller coaster and water rapids.
Wonderland has four fast-food stands to choose from, an ice-cream parlour, a snack shop and cafe and a variety of refreshment carts located around the park. The park also offers special events for birthdays and school trips. If you book your tickets online you will save 20%!
Wild Wadi | Things to do in Burj Al Arab with kids
Wild Wadi is located right next to the stunning Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Hotel and is one of the, if not the, best water park in Dubai. Whether at just walking age or old, there are rides and activities to suit all age groups. The park plays host to nine major rides and plenty more normal, but still pretty cool rides. The main ride is the Jumeirah Sceirah which takes you down a massive free-fall slide of 120 metres where you will travel at a whopping 80km!!
Apart from a massive selection of rides, rivers to chill-out on in a water float, a large wave pool, a wave surfing area and an amazing children’s water park for the little ones, there is also an area where for a little extra cost you can get a foot massage from mini fish! If you get peckish while at Wild Wadi, there are plenty of outlets and stalls serving the very best in unhealthy fast-food and soft drinks. Height restrictions do apply on various rides and adults enter the water park at AED 225 per person while children enter at AED 175 per person.
Ski Dubai | Things to do in Mall of the Emirates with kids
Ski Dubai is the very first indoor ski slope of its kind in both the UAE and Middle East. Ski Dubai provides visitors with a fantastic real snow setting that allows people to go tobogganing, snowboarding and skiing in. Apart from the incredible Ski Dubai, you can also go into the snow park where you can build a snowman, have a snow fight and do just about anything else you can think of. When visiting Ski Dubai, to go skiing you must be of a certain age, with the snow park there are no age restrictions.
Once you get to Ski Dubai, there are a total of three different activities, skiing and the snow park as mentioned above. The third activity is a penguin visit where you can go, play with, and have photos taken with real breathing penguins! After a good bit of fun in the snow, you can then take a browse around the Mall of the Emirates which only shortly had its title taken away from it as the biggest mall in the world, so you shouldn’t run out of things to do in the mall.
Hot Air Ballooning | Things to do in Dubai with kids
If you are looking for a way to see Dubai from the sky then hot air ballooning is way to do it. You will be picked up early in the morning before sunrise and then taken far out into the desert oasis where you will set off in to the morning sky to see the sunrise above the Gulf Sea.
Seeing the desert and city by sky is not cheap and will set you back nearly AED 1,000 per person. There are usually no age requirements, but it is recommended that all passengers are at least 5+ years of age.
Desert Safari | Things to do in Dubai with kids
Going on a desert safari is a great way for the whole family to have some fun, providing you don’t get car sick. You will either get picked up from your home or hotel, or be asked to meet somewhere in the desert. Once you have met up, you will then begin a crazy drive up and down the dunes of Dubai while at tipping point.
After your crazy desert safari, depending on your package, you will either be taken to your accommodation/car, or you will go back to a camp site where live entertainment and dinner in the desert awaits you and your friends or family.
Dubai Aquarium | Things to do in Dubai Mall with kids
If you want to see fish in Dubai, then fish is exactly what you will get in the 10-million-litre Dubai Aquarium water tank which contains over 400 Sharks and Rays. The massive fish tank has 140 different species of fish within its waters and reaches heights of 50+ metres tall. After walking around the tank, you can then take a walk straight through it as a tunnel has been made going through the tank at the bottom with see through glass.
Once you have walked through the tank, you can then make your way down to the Underwater Zoo where you can learn about all the creatures that roam the oceans and rivers of our world. There is also a new floor at Dubai Aquarium where you can see lots of creepy crawlies. You can also go snorkelling, diving and shark cage diving at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo at an extra cost.
Dubai Ice Rink | Things to do in Dubai Mall with kids
Dubai Ice Rink is located within the Dubai Mall and has skating boots to fit all sizes with no minimum or maximum age limit. Booking can be made in advance via the Dubai Ice Rinks website but is not essential. Apart from just skating around the ice rink, you can also play hockey, get skating lessons and at certain times, skate to the rhythm of a live DJ’s tracks.
The Dubai Ice Rink is open 7 days a week from 10am till around 8pm. During the first ice skating session which takes place between 10am and 12pm, mothers and toddlers can take to the ice together for just AED 55.
Sega Republic | Things to do in Dubai Mall with kids
A place where you may have to dig deep into your pocket, but the kids will love you for it, Sega Republic. Sega Republic has a total of 9 major rides and over 250 other gaming machines from racing, to shooting, to grab & bag prizes to pretty much anything else you can think of.
There are so many family fun activities to do here it would take forever to list the lot, so to keep it short and simple, Sega Republic is located in the Dubai Mall, open from 10am to 1am, and has activities suitable for all ages.
Al Ain Zoo | Things to do in Al Ain with kids
Al Ain Zoo, which is funnily enough located in the Al Ain Emirate of the UAE, is a 5 star zoo in comparison to another zoo which is located in Dubai. The zoo has very high standards of maintenance, animal welfare and cleanliness. Al Ain Zoo has a total of 4,000 animals including White Lions, White Rhinos, Lions and Giraffes.
Special experiences you can take part in for a little extra include feeding the Giraffes some much loved carrots or lettuce, feeding the ponies and watching the keepers as they feed the bigger more muscle animals. Al Ain Zoo is open 365 days a year and also has a restaurant where you can have lunch or dinner.
Ice Land Water Park | Things to do in Ras Al Khaimah with kids
Ice Land Water Park, which is located in Ras Al Khaimah, is a great place to go if you have young children aged 12 and under. The park is not however (in our opinion) the best place to go if you have older children as the rides are pretty basic. Although the last time we visited the park was 2 years ago and the rides may have improved since then.
Ice Land Water Park has a total of 16 rides and is open from 10am onwards every day. The water park also has three eating places to choose from which are The Platter, which serves Filipino food, Food Village, which serves a variety of food, and last but not least the Snow Castle which is home to a nice Gourmet restaurant.
Ferrari World – Abu Dhabi | Things to do in Abu Dhabi with kids
Although this attraction is not in Dubai, but instead Abu Dhabi, it had to be added as it is a magnificent attraction for all ages. Things to do at Ferrari World include kids F1 kart racing, Rollercoaster’s, 4D rides, a free-fall ride that drops you 66 metres while your fastened in, racing simulations, and 15+ other spectacular activities to try.
The park is open from Tuesday to Monday from 11am to 8pm and is so big, that if turned on its side, it would be the tallest building in the world. Having so much fun at Ferrari World will soon make you hungry, for this reason Ferrari World have added a mixture of five restaurants to fill up your bellies.
Creek Side Park
Dubai’s Creek Side Park is another great destination to visit if you have children as there is something to suit all ages from Dubai Children’s City, to Dubai Dolphinarium, to the Creek Park Cable Cars, to finally the Dubai Creek Dhow Tours. There are also one or two cafes at Creek Park for when you get thirsty.
After taking part in all Dubai Creek Park has to offer, which should take up most the day, you also have other attractions close by like Dubai Museum, Dubai Spice Souk, Dubai Gold Souk and the Karama Market.
Mirdif City Centre | Things to do in Dubai with kids
Mirdif City Centre has a range of exciting attractions for your children to enjoy. Firstly you have Little Explorers which opens at 10am each day and has a fantastic total of 97 different activities and interactive attractions to keep your child happy while you go shopping. After this you have Soccer Circus which is open 7 days a week from 10am and is an interactive football attraction where kids can play some football and become a pro player.
Another fantastic attraction at Mirdif City Centre is iFly Dubai where you get put into a large fan and lifted up above the ground while flying in the air. After this, there is a great bowling alley and kids climbing area close by within the mall.
Are last, but far from least child friendly attraction is Kidzania. Things to do in Dubai with kids is surely Kidzania which is a large educational center for children aged 4 to 16 years of age. There are a total of 80 activities for children to take part in at Kidzania, of which 60 of them are interactive.
The main thing that makes Kidzania so great is that it helps them to develop while they play their chosen role as either a chef, TV star, inventor, pilot, police officer, detective, Race driver and many, many other roles. Although there is not much for adults to do here, it is a fantastic way to wear down the kids while they make new friends and learn a thing or two about a particular career.
